Mr. Farook Hassan, the first Bangladeshi that obtained internationally recognised professional Award Chartered Shipbroker, has 16 years extensive practical hands on experience in various sector of shipping industries including Logistics & Supply chain/ Multi-modal transportation/ Container & Liner trade and Tramp trade. He has received International Standard Shipping Professional education, professional qualification & membership (MICS UK) and Fellowship (FICS UK).
In last seven years, he has worked as Head of Shipping & Logistics in Dhaka for Columbia Enterprise Ltd. with the responsibility of utilization of business practices to integrate organization's shipping activities with its suppliers to achieve maximum procurement efficiencies. Planning, implementing and controlling the efficient & cost effective flow and fulfillment of customer demand through an integrated supply chain, using shipping techniques.
Mr. Hassan has worked for various Principals including Wan Hai Lines (Taiwan)- Main Line Operator, PACC Container Line (Singapore)- Feeder Operator, Perma Container (UK) Line Ltd - NVOCC, Mercury Line (India) - NVOCC, Zimex Line Inc. (USA) - Freight forwarder (Air & Sea), NASH Logistics - Logistics service provider (Air & Sea), DSL USA (later acquired by Maersk Logistics) - Freight Forwarding, Hanjin Shipping (S.Korea) - Main Line Operator, MARCO Shipping (Singapore) - Trump vessel operator, HAM VOA J.V. (The Netherlands) - Project Forwarder, Waterman Steamship Corp. (USA) - Lash Barge Operator, PNSC (Pakistan National Shipping Corp.) - Line trade in different sector of shipping industries and have developed several relevant skills for a career to work in a challenging local and multinational environment.
