Tents from Shelterbox (http://www.shelterbox.org/box_contents.htm) that had been donated by Rotary UK, will be moved from Yogyakarta as quite a few had been returned after a permanent housing / shelter been made. Relocation of this tents is being coordinated with local Rotary Club.

The coordination had been further detailed with Pastor Agus Pr, the Keuskupan Tirtanadi Padang. Team 9 is being assigned to do rescue and recovery operation at the Pulau Pagai and Pulau Siberut in Mentawai. These as mentioned are among the further and remotest areas.

The team urgently need to be there soon, there fore it is being decided to have them move next Monday if possible.

To prepare the whole operation the initial budget needed estimated around Rp. 115.000.000.- These to cover the major cost of this rescue stage:

  1.. Air Transportation from Jakarta - Padang and then on to the island whereby boat need to be rented as most of the government owned vessels usually very much occupied already.   2.. Immediate emergency medical supplies that the Team will transpoirt together with the group. Please urgently assist if you can by transferring the donation to the team director Johnny W.Utama at his account below (same letter as the one mailed yesterday).

Please find below my colleague program to the recent natural disaster, they are going to the remotest most affected areas. These are the same volunteering folks that went to Aceh, Nias, Yogyakarta on the last disasters.

TEAM 9 / KDK (Kerabat Desa Kota) is on preparation to send rescue 每 team to MENTAWAI island one of remote island hit by big Earthquake (8,9 SK). A group of 14 -15 volunteers will leave on 28 September 2007 and return 7 October. Within 8 days visit TEAM 9 will conduct these rescue activities
